The Way Of All Flesh’s second gig, this time supporting Libitina, at a classic Sheffield venue of the ’80 and ’90s: The Hallamshire Hotel. The Hallamshire was a well travelled local venue for local and touring bands with a small but functional upstairs live room. Early Pulp are known to have played here at least 12 times, along with artists such as Girlschool, The Cranberries, Inspiral Carpets and In The Nursery.
This was still TWOAFs original line up of Dan, Steve, Kate, Jasper and Dave and was Kelly’s first experience of them, being in the audience.
Only a short set was played of 4 songs, but included the debut of So Cold which most of the band hadn’t actually heard the lyrics of until that night. So Cold went down so well that it was requested as an encore by the audience and played again, making it only the second time the band had heard the full song all the way through….
Our first gig, way back in the mists of time.
